From a single log
The Rib Bench starts where all our work does — with the tree. A single Guanacaste log is milled down into a set of solid slats, each one a rib of the finished bench. Stacked and shaped by hand, the ribs step through a gentle arch that gives the bench its lift and its name.
Seen end-on, the slats read as a rhythm of light and shadow; from the side, they resolve into one clean curve. Because every rib comes from the same log, the colour and grain carry through the whole piece.
Low and sculptural, the Rib Bench works at the foot of a bed, in an entry, or as seating in a gallery-like space. Made to order, and sized to the room.
