Our commission process is built around collaboration, craftsmanship, and artistic exploration. Clients can choose wood type, scale, form language, and finish while we guide the piece toward its final sculptural expression. Every commission is made entirely by hand in our Guanacaste workshop.
Commission a Custom Statement Piece
How a Commission Works
Our custom commission process is a guided collaboration from concept to completion. We begin with a design consultation to understand the client’s vision, space, and functional needs. From there, we explore forms, materials, and proportions, selecting from Guanacaste, Teak, or Monkey Pod. Sketches and concept studies follow before we begin hand‑shaping and crafting the final sculptural piece in our Costa Rica woodshop.
Artistic Approach
Every commission is treated as a sculptural exploration. Rather than replicating past work, we respond to the unique character of each slab and the story it wants to tell. Our artistic approach blends fine‑art sensibility with functional craftsmanship, creating custom wood furniture in Costa Rica that becomes a focal point in the client’s home.
Commission Stories
Each custom project tells a story. For example, a sculptural dining table carved from a single Guanacaste slab for a coastal villa in Guanacaste, or a custom Teak bench designed for a Papagayo residence seeking organic flow and ocean‑inspired shaping. These narratives help clients imagine what is possible when artistry and purpose align.
