Our commission process blends collaboration, craftsmanship, and sculptural woodworking. Clients choose the wood, scale, and form while we shape each piece by hand in our Guanacaste woodshop. Every creation is crafted as a one-of-a-kind work of functional art.

Workflow Breakdown

Our process begins with a detailed design consultation to understand the client’s needs, space, and aesthetic direction. We then move into wood selection, choosing from premium Guanacaste, Teak, or Monkey Pod slabs sourced in Costa Rica. Once the concept is defined, we begin shaping, carving, and refining the piece by hand, ensuring form and function align with the final vision. The process concludes with careful finishing, curing, and preparation for delivery.

Craftsmanship Details

Each piece is created using sculptural woodworking techniques that highlight the natural movement and grain of the hardwood. We soften edges, refine transitions, and carve surfaces to bring out the organic qualities of Costa Rican tropical hardwoods. Our workshop embraces slow craftsmanship—every curve, joinery point, and surface treatment is executed by hand to achieve heirloom‑level quality and artistic expression.

Sustainability & Sourcing

All of our materials are selected from sustainably sourced Costa Rican hardwoods, primarily Guanacaste, Teak, and Monkey Pod. We prioritize responsible forestry practices and work with suppliers who share our values. By using locally sourced wood and crafting everything in our Guanacaste woodshop, we reduce environmental impact while supporting local communities and ensuring every piece remains authentic to Costa Rica.
